Fate: Arrive in the fabled forest town of Grove and travel to the outskirts where the Old Wood meets the Dungeon Gate. Past this iron-clad gate, you will determine your destiny and build providence.
Get tips from townspeople to acquire power with unique weaponry and magic spells. Your faithful companion (a cat OR Jack Russell Terrier) defends you against monsters that lurk within dark, dangerous corridors.
Within these mysterious walls, youll find infinite adventure, and perhaps fortune and glory. Take the dare . . . test your worth . . . and DETERMINE YOUR FATE!
"Like Diablo, but better!"
For old school fans who love the Diablo 1 & 2 games, you're gonna love this! They just don't make 'em like this anymore, which is a real shame. The pet is great, but I do wish the pet's stats and enemy reactions could be customize (like the NPCs of Baldurs Gate).
Just the same, a highly addictive little hack and slash game with great graphics. Very fun. My only gripe is that it's not compatible with Windows 7. But then again, what is? lol!
I'd even recommend this for kids just starting out with RPGs as it has no blood, no sexual overtones (the ladies are actually dressed!), and the violent content is lacking.
Can't wait to see what the new Fate has in store!
Pros
Easy on system resources. Nice graphics. Controls are standard (i.e. map is 'm', inventory 'i', pet 'p').
Runs smooth. Great graphics and rendering. No glitchiness. Dungeons are different.
Cons
Job classes could be better defined. You pretty much have to start out as a melee character, but the customization that opens is phenomenal because you're not stuck with one class and can combine armor and socketed stones to max whatever stats/skills/attributes you need.
As I said earlier, it's not Win 7 compatible which... eh. I'm playing it through an in-browser support system. (HP Games).
